20–22 March 2013 | St. Petersburg, Russia

bsd14spbSt. Petersburg (Russia) will host the XIV International Environmental Forum “Baltic Sea Day” on the 20-22nd of March 2013. Focus topics will cover progress in implementation of National Baltic Sea Action Plans and exchange of experience therein among the Baltic countries in the light of preparations for upcoming HELCOM Ministerial Meeting in 2013, special attention will be paid to international projects and initiatives which make input for fulfilment of international commitments.

We would like to consider different scenarios of the Baltic Sea development presented into the WWF report and make focus on a cost-benefit analysis, which enables the researchers from Baltic “Stern Report” to assess for instance the economic impact of nutrient loads on a country-bycountry basis. The Forum is an important event in establishment and implementation of environmental policies of the Baltic countries. It unites people interested in the environmental safety and wellbeing of the Baltic Sea and provides ground for the discussions about strategic issues by high level representatives of the Baltic Region major stakeholders.

High level of representation from the European Commission, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Ministry of the Environment of Finland, Ministry of the Environment of Sweden and relevant ministries of the Baltic Sea countries is expected at the Forum in 2013.
